ACCS softball drops doubleheader to MRA

In a tune-up for the postseason, Adams County Christian School lost a varsity doubleheader to Class AAAA Madison-Ridgeland Academy Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Patriots scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away for a 7-3 win over the Lady Rebels in Game 1. Winning pitcher Grace Self hit a home run for the Lady Patriots. Lexie Emanuel had a triple for the Lady Rebels.
Game 2 went six innings, and MRA held on for a 5-4 win over ACCS.
The game was tied at 3-3 after four innings of play before MRA scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning and then held ACCS to one run in the bottom of the fifth.
Shelby Mason went 3-for-3, and Bailey Boyd was 2-for-2 for the Lady Rebels.
ACCS (13-11) next plays on Saturday at the MAIS Class AAA South State Tournament with a time and opponent to be determined.
