NATCHEZ — The men of Trace City Baptist Church in Natchez are hosting their second “Beast Feast” at 6 p.m. today at the church at 29 Fatherland Road this evening.
Daniel Cavin, one of the event organizers, says the feast was something he and other men in the church agreed to host as a way to bring more men of the church together for fellowship.
“We just wanted to find a way to bring men together,” Cavin said. “This way, they can participate in good fellowship while enjoying good food.”
As many of the men in the church are outdoor enthusiasts, including Cavin, the idea for preparing wild game for the meal was natural.
“It is something the men enjoy,” Cavin said. “We decided to build an event around something that many of us have in common.”
The event is just one to increase church fellowship. It is not a fundraiser but just an activity to increase morale among the men in the church.
“The event is open to any men in the area,” Cavin said. “We encourage men in the community to come and be among other Godly men and there is no fee.”
Those who plan to attend can expect to enjoy good company and a variety of well prepared game dishes.
“We will have an assortment of dishes,” Cavin said. “Mostly, we will serve deer meat and wild hog.”
Any men in the area interested can contact Daniel Cavin at 601-807-3684 for more information.
