Marian “Yvonne” Thomas Davis

ROXIE — Services for Marian “Yvonne” Thomas Davis, 64, who died Friday, Sept., 23, 2016, at 3:36 a.m. at her home surrounded by her devoted family, will be 1 p.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church on Cransfield Road.

Burial will follow at Evergreens Cemetery Annex in Woodville under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Davis, a loving wife, mother and grandmother was a resident of Roxie and a native of Gloster. She was born on Sept. 2, 1952.

Along with being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a devoted pet lover to her 13 cats and two dogs in addition to any other strays. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who hold on to the faith that will allow them to see her again.

Mrs. Davis married her husband, John Edward “Eddie” Davis on Nov. 26, 1969 in the Nazarene Church in Gloster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margie McCallister Thomas; paternal grandparents, Ventress and Sarah Thomas; maternal grandparents, Harrison and Alberta McCallister; Brothers and sister-in-laws, David Lee and Fay Thomas, George “Red” and Marie Thomas; sister, Margie Lynn Thomas Biggs; niece, Crystal Lynn Thomas; nephew, James Eric Thomas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Henry and Mary Adaline Davis; nephew Chad Floyd; and niece Heather Meng.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John Edward “Edie” Davis, who called her the “Sunshine of his life;” three children, Denise and Aaron Braud, Brandy Miles and Devin and Amanda Davis; six grandchildren, Ashley, Sierra, Erica and Brandon Braud, and Zachary Miles and Landon Davis; one sister, Katherine and Irvin Davis; six brothers, Reginald Thomas, Joe and Wanda Thomas, Herbert and Darlene Thomas, Ross and Teresa Thomas, James and Darlene Thomas and Mike and Myra Thomas; along with her in-laws on her husband’s side, Barbara and Roddy Wheeler, Shirley and Paul Latham, Inez and Grady Jones, Rodney and JoAnn Davis, Renee and Allen Floyd, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
