FERRIDAY — Services for Lola Rae O’Briant, 91, of Moss Point, who died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Moss Point, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Christopher Hamilton officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. O’Briant was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Marion, La., the daughter of Dan Howard Sr. and Ethel Byrd Howard.
She served as past president of the Veterans of Foreign War of Waterproof, a member of the Council on Aging in Clayton, Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of Ferriday Church of God. She also served as a board member for the Town of Clayton.
Mrs. O’Briant was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O’Briant; her parents; one daughter, Glinda Sue McCune; three brothers, Bernice Howard, Dan “Tobe” Howard and Loyce Howard; and four sisters, Hattie Pauline Childress, Ollie Houghton, Alta Mae Hamilton and Ethel Beatrice McNeely.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Dian Horn and husband, Carrol, of Moss Point and Lola Elizabeth Murray of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
