NATCHEZ — Want to report a crime? There’s an app for that.
In an attempt to increase its crime-fighting arsenal, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office is launching a new app, AdamsCo Sheriff, for county residents to connect with the department to find information, view alerts and submit anonymous tips from their smartphone or other mobile device.
“We are committed to implementing strategies to create an innovative law enforcement agency, including proactive policing, problem solving and advanced technology,” Sheriff Travis Patten said. “We believe the addition of this new app will allow us to continue to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with our community.”
The tip system is anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before law enforcement is able to view it.
AdamsCo Sheriff was developed by tip411. It is available for download via Google Play, iTunes or visiting the sheriff’s office website at adamscosheriff.org.
Residents in Adams County without a smartphone can send an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting keyword ACSO#1 and their message or tip to 847411.
