Weekend Ticket: History events ready to educate, inspire

Check out some of the events happening this weekend:
Parchman Ordeal documentary: At 6 p.m. TODAY at the Natchez City Auditorium on Jefferson Street. Free to the public. Local filmmakers present a film about what happened to more than 150 young men and women 51 years ago in Natchez during the Civil Rights era.
Cathedral Fall Festival: Saturday and Sunday on the Cathedral School campus. Enjoy carnival games, great food, auction items and more fun. Proceeds go to benefit the school
Archaeology Expo: From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians. Free to the public. The expo is a day-long special event featuring educational and fun activities for all ages, such as demonstrations of archaeological techniques as well as prehistoric and historic lifeways.
Fall Pilgrimage events: Through Oct. 10, 19 antebellum mansions, most of them private residences, open their doors to visitors during this three-week pilgrimage every fall. Evening events include The Natchez Little Theatre’s production of Horton Foote’s “the Trip to Bountiful” is presented at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday Go to Natchezpilgrimage.com for more information.
