CLAYTON — Graveside services for Barbara S. Brasher, 66, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary, La., will be 10 a.m. today at Roger’s Cemetery in Clayton with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Brasher was born June 5, 1950, in Franklinton, La., the daughter of Emerson Robert Strahan and Elizabeth Barber Strahan.
She was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Herman and Ora Barber; paternal grandparents, Acy and Alma Strahan and Pete and Agnes Brasher of Ferriday.
Survivors include her husband, James Brasher; three children, Rhonda Squyres and husband, Michael, of Jonesville, Dawn Miller and Ben Trosclair of Garyville and Trey Brasher and wife, Eva, of Natchez; five grandchildren, Savannah Gann and husband, Chris, Austyn and Audrey Brasher, all of Natchez, Johnny Johnson and wife, Brooklin, of Jonesville and Dakota Williams of Garyville; four great-grandchildren, Bentley and Locklyn Gann of Natchez and Drake and Slade Johnson of Jonesville; five siblings, Donna Strahan, Billy Nevels and wife, Robbie, Michael Boutwell and Karen Wilkinson, all of Jackson, and Will Strahan of Maurepas; and a number of cherished nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Brasher had a love for dogs, leaving behind four dogs that was very dear to her heart. She will be surely missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Trey Brasher, Johnny Johnson III, Michael Squyres, Chris Gann, Ben Trosclair and Dennis Chapman.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice.
