The Ferriday High School Trojans celebrated homecoming with a 14-6 win over the General Trass Panthers Friday night in an LHSAA District 2-2A game.
Despite the win, there were several things that Ferriday head coach Dwight Woods was not pleased with at all.
“We won, but we didn’t play well. We were glad to get another district win. We played the first two series, but we didn’t play well after that. We didn’t play with a lot of enthusiasm. We took them for granted. We played down to their level,” Woods said.
The Trojans scored touchdowns in each of their first two series and the Panthers scored later on in the first quarter, but there be no more scoring the rest of the way.
“Hats off to them. They played hard until the end,” Woods said. “We relaxed and thought it was going to be easy. We were trying to get (our players) away from the homecoming activities.”
Ferriday (5-2, 2-0) next plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Sterlington.
