NATCHEZ — Services for Christine Herring Sims, 90, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Winfield Healthcare in Crockett, Texas, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Natchez with the Rev. Dennis C. Flach officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Sims was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Monticello, Ark., the daughter of Leslie and Sallie Herring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Jeffrey and Beth Buck; and one son, A.J. “Buddy “Leigh III.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas F. Sims; one sister, Louise Donham of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one son, Leslie E. Leigh and wife, Sandra, of Brandon; one step-daughter, Sandra Allen and husband, Oscar, of Crockett, Texas; sister-in-law, Peggy Dannelly of Spanish Fort, Ala.; five grandchildren, Matthew Hall Leigh, John Charles Bass, Rebecca Leigh Barnhill, Nathan Fox Leigh and Caleb Huntley Allen; and three great-grandchildren, Reid Elizabeth Leigh, Huntley Kyle Allen and Lila Grace Barnhill.
