Last Friday night, the Franklin County High School Bulldogs got a huge win in MHSAA Region 7-3A action when they defeated the Port Gibson Blue Waves on the road 19-14.
Now Franklin County turns its attention to Wesson High School (4-5, 0-3) as the Bulldogs play host to the Cobras for homecoming.
Kickoff on Friday is set for 7 p.m.
Franklin County (3-6, 1-2) needs a win to stay in the postseason hunt.
“We’re just focusing on fixing our problems,” FCHS head coach Trey Woodard said. “We’ve got a long way to go to be a good football team.”
Woodard said Wesson is a well-coached team with a really good offense that scores a lot of points. The Cobras scored 34 points at home against Jefferson County — and still lost by 14 points.
Franklin County’s defense came up with some big stops in its win over Port Gibson despite giving up 318 total yards of offense and 15 first downs.
“We gave up big chunk plays, but they didn’t score off of those. We had big, timely turnovers,” Woodard said.
