NATCHEZ — Services for Fred L. Page, 85, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Joe W. Pickett officiating.    10_20-fred-l-page-obitpic
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Page was born May 28, 1931, in Tallulah, La., the son of Ike Page Sr. and Amanda Zealy Page.
He was married to Louise Bernard Page for 63 years and together they raised six girls and three boys.
He was a longtime employee of Melrose and the Natchez National Park Service. He was retired but continued to volunteer for the park service up until his death.
Mr. Page served as a deacon at Lagrange Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one daughter, Marilyn Louise Page; one son, Troy Page; three sisters; five brothers; and one sister-in-law, Eliza B. Wright.
Survivors include five daughters, JoAnn Knowles and husband, Daniel, of Jackson, Debra J. Page of Canton, Shirley P. Price and Myrtle P. Merritt and husband, Charles, all of Natchez, and Joy Page and husband, Tony, of New Orleans; two sons, Richard Page Sr. of Natchez and Freddie Page of Ellisville; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
He is also survived by an extended family, Christina G. Jones, Warren Gaines, both of Natchez, and a very special friend.
Mr. Page will be greatly missed by his loving family, park service employees and a number of friends.
He was a very special person and was loved by all.
