NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Marshall “Mark” Gordon Lewis, 66, who died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Stratton Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Natchez with the Rev. Denny Read and the Rev. Noelle Read officiating.
Visitation with the family will be immediately following the service in the church annex.
Mr. Lewis was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Paris, Texas, the son of Cecil and Billie Canter Lewis.
Mr. Lewis worked as a registered respiratory therapist for a number of years at Natchez Regional Medical Center. He received his degrees in respiratory care from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and University of South Alabama. He was an avid “Crimson Tide” fan. Prior to working as a respiratory therapist, Mr. Lewis obtained a licensed practical nursing degree from Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Before pursuing a career in the medical profession, Mr. Lewis was a painting contractor and also a licensed barber.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include six children, Jennifer Lewis Varnado of Brandon, Sandi Rene Lewis and Brandi Lewis Wren and husband, Andrew, all of Dallas, Tom Benjamin Lewis of Natchez, Taylor Brooke Yates and Bailey Victoria Yates of Vidalia; two grandsons, Jacob Barrett Aldridge of Oxford and Easton Andrew Wren of Dallas; one brother, Kirby Lewis of Natchez; and a number of cherished family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, First Presbyterian Church in Natchez or to a charity of choice.
