NATCHEZ — Services for Judith Walker Weeks, 78, of Natchez, who died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at her farm that she loved surrounded by her friends and family, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Edgar Wright and the Rev. Kerry Wooten officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Weeks was born April 23, 1938, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Otis Levi Walker and Myrtis Evelyn Williamson Walker.
She was very active in Vidalia First Baptist Church and an active member of Morgantown Baptist Church. She loved solving puzzles, reading, traveling and genealogy. She also worked as the deputy tax assessor for Concordia Parish, was the executive secretary for Sidney A. Murray Jr. and worked for the Town of Vidalia.
Mrs. Weeks was the director of Girl Scouts of Central Louisiana. She also owned a ballet studio in Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Calvin Weeks.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Weeks Morace and husband, Tim; one son, John David Weeks and wife, Elizabeth, all of Natchez; four grandchildren, Whitney Weeks, Heather Weeks, Randa Morace and Ashley Graham; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Wooten of Bossier City, La., Ramona Lambert and Sue Cothren, both of Vidalia; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers and friends, Alfreda Singleton and Idell Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Weeks, Clay Weeks, Kerry Wooten, Tim Morace, Steve Wooten and Danny Stutzman.
