FERRIDAY — Services for Jerry Lynn Emfinger, 70, of Dunbarton, La., who died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, will be noon today at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Emfinger was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Dunbarton, the son of J.L. Emfinger and Venie Walker Emfinger.
He was a member of Dunbarton Baptist Church and retired from Concordia Sheriff’s Department.
Mr. Emfinger’s passion was being a deputy.
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Anthony Paige Emfinger; and one sister, Charlotte Bell.
Survivors include one son, Zane Emfinger and wife, June, of Dunbarton; his mother of Dunbarton; six grandchildren, Cory Geter, Ashton Brown, Jordon Smith, Megan Tomlinson, Dustin Emfinger and Kaleb Smith; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces, Stefanie Bell of Ferriday and Tina Mott of Lake St. John; and two great-nieces, Ashley and Hailey Mott.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Emfinger, Kaleb Smith, Blaine Briggs, Andy Briggs, Mikey Cain and Tony Brocato.
Honorary pallbearers will be Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
