FERRIDAY — Services for Lonnie “Dale” McDonald, 55, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, in Galveston, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Baker and the Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visistation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Ferriday.
Mr. McDonald was born Jan. 31, 1961, in Natchez, the son of Lonnie Lee McDonald and Dorothy Holloway McDonald.
He worked in industrial construction as a heavy equipment operator for 38 years and was working with Hayword-Baker.
He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and was a collector of many things.
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Ben and Effie Holloway, James Cadeau and Etta McDonald.
Survivors include, one son, Troy McDonald of Shreveport; his mother; one sister, Ann Yakey and husband, Robert, of Ferriday; one nephew, Michael Yakey and wife, Jenny, of Vidalia; and grand-nieces, Natalie Yakey and Madalyn Yakey.
Pallbearers will be Troy McDonald, Charlie Johns, Ray Book, William Merritt, Michael Yakey and Kyle Murray.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Delaney and Roy Jones.
