The Logansport High School Tigers scored 28 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 45-0 win over the Block High School Friday night in an LHSAA District 3-1A game.
“We ran into a bus. And then we ran into a brick wall,” Block head coach Bo Sproles said. “We couldn’t get anything going. Logansport played a near perfect game. Lights out, ice cold football all night.”
Logansport (9-0, 4-0), ranked No. 4 in this week’s LSWA Class 1A poll, scored four touchdowns in the first quarter for its 28-0 lead. The Tigers put up two more touchdowns in the second quarter and added a field goal in the second half.
“You have to play a perfect game to beat them. They scored just about every time we punted to them,” Sproles said.
The only thing that went right for the Bears was a 45-yard pass from Jacob Duncan to Tyreke Harbor.
“I don’t think we had 100 total yards (of offense). We attempted to run the ball by committee tonight. It was one of those one step forward, 20 steps back game,” Sproles said.
Block (1-8, 1-3) plays host to St. Mary’s at 7 p.m. Friday.
