The Delhi High School Bears defeated the Delta Charter School Storm 42-28 Friday night in an LHSAA District 2-1A game.
“We came out an played a tough Delhi team. We didn’t execute the game plan very,” Delta Charter defensive coordinator Jarrett Hoffpauir said. “Not a lot of positives, offensively or defensively.”
Delhi (4-4, 3-2) jumped out to a 26-14 halftime lead and never looked back. Delta Charter tried to rally in the fourth quarter, but only after being down 34-14 after three quarters of play.
“We made some mistakes that came back to haunt us,” Hoffpaiur said. “We got in the red zone several times and couldn’t capitalize. We had them in some 3rd and longs and gave up some big plays that gave them first downs. It’s tough to win games like that.”
Delta Charter (2-7, 1-5) hosts Beekman Charter School next Friday at 7 p.m.
