Block High School will play host to rival St. Mary’s High School for senior night at 7 p.m. Friday.
Block (1-8, 1-3) currently holds the No. 24 spot in the Class 1A power ratings. A win and the Bears are in the playoffs
A loss could mean an even tougher first-round opponent.
St. Mary’s (5-4, 3-1) is No. 11 in the Division IV power ratings.
“The tough schedule we’ve got keeps us this high,” Block head coach Bo Sproles said. “If we win, we should jump a few spots.”
Sproles said his team is going to have play solid, fundamental, mistake-free football in all three aspects of the game Friday.
“We’re gong to have to stop making immature mistakes,” he said. “If we can eliminate penalties and run the football, we’ll be OK. We also have to tackle a lot better than we did against Logansport.”
