VIDALIA — Services for Clyde Edward Allred, 86, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, in Vidalia, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Vidalia with the Rev. Wes Faulk and the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Allred was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Little Springs, the son of Hosea Allred and Lillie Freeman Allred.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 305 of Vidalia, the Order of Easter Star Chapter 37 of Vidalia, 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner with the Wahabi Temple.
Clyde proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Myrtle Allred Holland, Maggie Allred Holland and Pearl Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Allred; one son, Charles Darren Allred of Rowlett, Texas; one stepson, Tim Horton and wife, Lauri, of McKinney, Texas; two stepdaughters, Lori Horton Class and husband, Joe Class Jr., of California, and Cindy Horton Ladner of Gilbert, Ariz.; two brothers, Hollis Allred and wife, Frances, of Natchez and Bobby Allred of Vidalia; one sister, Kathryn Seale of Natchez; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Seale, Brain Allred, Alan Holland, Caleb Holland, Neil Taylor and Lee Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Holland, P.G. Holland, Raymond Lindeman, Buck Denny, Royce Whittington, John Grennell and J.D. King.
Memorials may be made to The Shriners Children’s Hospital or The First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
