NATCHEZ — Services for James Lee Ivory, 88, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Glenburney Nursing Home, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Egypt Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Ivory was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Adams County, the son of William Jones and Harriet Ivory Jones.
He was a devoted member of Egypt Baptist Church serving in multiple areas — usher board president, pastor’s aid club and Lodge No. 18. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Ivory was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Fredrick; one brother; and his sisters.
Survivors include his lovely and devoted wife, Fannie Rose Wesley Ivory; one son, Aaron Johnson of Natchez; two grandsons, Rod Bland and Joseph Williams; and a number of other relatives and friends.
