FERRIDAY — Services for Allie Orene Fitt, 83, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Ronnie Wesberry, the Rev. Cecil Grantham and the Rev. Melton Rushing officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fitt was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Jonesville, the daughter of Oran and Ruth Keith Cockerham.
She was a member of the Clayton Apostolic Church — she loved her family and her church family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Fitt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, WJ “Willie” Fitt; two sisters, Ladine Martin and Bessie Wesberry; two brothers, Henry Cockerham and Thomas Cockerham; and one nephew, Frank J. Fitt Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Pool and husband, Byron, of Ellisville, Peggy Nottebart and husband, Bob, of Wharton, Texas, and Lisa Pugh of Monterey; two sons, Michael Fitt of Laurel and Kenny Fitt of Ferriday; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Perry Ellis, Buddy Cockerham, Jim Brixey, Ricky Rush, Zane Taunton and Henry “Bubba” Fitt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Byron Pool, Erby Seals, Shelton Seals and Chris Seals.
