NATCHEZ — Services for Sam Hendricks, 68, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Murray Temple Church of God In Christ with the Rev. Sam Hendricks Jr. officiating. 
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Hendricks was born April 22, 1948, in Natchez, the son of Roosevelt and Kitty Hendricks.
He was an honorable Vietnam veteran and had served a number of years as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hendricks was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, S.L. Hendricks.
Survivors include his wife, Lourdene Hendricks; six children, Gerald Pearl and wife, Jennifer, Michael Owens and wife, Twyla, Nicole Hendricks Pearson, Shonkeith Hendricks and wife, Courtney, Samuel Hendricks Jr. and Kimberly Hendricks; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Freddie Hendricks, Roosevelt Hendricks Jr., David Hendricks, Sam Woods and Kenan Johnson; two sisters, Josephine Watson and Dianne Good and husband, Joe Lee; one sister-in-law, Barbara Ann White and husband, Thomas; a special aunt, Willie Mae Ross; Guantis Durant, who he loved as a daughter; three uncles, Robert Stewart, Howard Stewart and Cleveland Reynolds; a special friend and sister-in-law, Ethel Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
