NATCHEZ — Services for Vernon Lewis, 61, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 6 p.m. Sunday at George F. West Memorial Chapel at West Gate Funeral Home.  
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lewis was born in Adams County, the son of Charlie Cage Jr. and Julia Brooks Cage.
He enjoyed being with his family, watching westerns and gospel music.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, JaKarta KeShon Lewis and infant Vernon Lewis; one brother, Charlie Cage Jr.; one sister, Lillie Mae Brooks; and one granddaughter, Serenity M. Birdie.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Fort Lewis; four sons, Antonio JocKeith Lewis, Tyrus Michael Fort and wife, Lisa, Cecil Brown and Eric Brown; three daughters, LaQuanda Tameka Lewis, Sameka Fort Lucas and husband, Larry, and Karen Fort; two brothers, Sargent Brooks of Muskegon, Mich., and Johnny Cage of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Janita Doby of Fort Washington, Md., and Ola Tenner of Natchez; six grandchildren, Tyra Birdie, MyKayla Ware, Candi Ware, Antonio Dillon, Yasmine Ware and Vernon Lewis; and one great-grandchild, Tyrae Letcher Jr.
