NATCHEZ — Services for Takita Rene Smith, 43, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Reed officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Ms. Smith was born Oct. 17, 1973, in Natchez, the daughter of John Myles and Thelma Carter-Smith.

She was a 1991 graduate of Natchez High School. She continued her education at Phillips Junior College with an associate degree in business administration/accounting and at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Takita was employed by Vikramaditya Dulam, M.D., as a medical billing and coding specialist and at Wal-Mart Supercenter as a customer service representative.

She attended various churches throughout the area where she sang in a number of choirs.

Takita was a member of Phi Beta Lambda. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and surfing the Internet.

She was preceded in death by her adoptive mother, Katie Ruth Carter-Smith; her adoptive father, Charles Edward Smith Sr.; and her biological father, John Myles.

Survivors include her fiancé, Jeffery White of Natchez; her mother, Thelma Inez Carter-Smith of Hattiesburg; two sons, Kyron Jarrell Smith and Jamarii Zphabian White; four brothers, Charles Edward Smith Jr., John Myles Jr., and Tramaine Smith, all of Natchez, and Steven Myles of South Carolina; four sisters, Lequtitia Carter-Hardy of Hattiesburg, Eileen Carter of Gulfport, Kierra Carter of Atlanta and Diedre Myles of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
