NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Walter A. Doughty Jr., 77, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2016, at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Doughty was born Nov. 18, 1939, in Natchez, the son of Walter Alexander Doughty Sr. and Julia Carman Doughty.
He was retired from International Paper Company after 40 years of service. He was also a longtime member of Buck Island Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Hobdy Doughty; two sons, Walter Alexander Doughty III and Michael Darin Doughty and wife, Shannon, all of Natchez; three grandchildren, Austin Alexander Doughty, Eric James and Mollie Burts, all of Natchez; one stepbrother, Jerry Hawthorne of Natchez; one stepsister, Patty Hawthorne Allen of Lexington, Ky.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
