MEADVILLE — Services for Bobbye M. Graves, 84, of Roxie, who died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with the Rev. Van Windham officiating.   129-bobbyemgraves-obitpic
Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Roxie under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Graves was born July 1, 1932, in Roxie, the daughter of Oliver and Pearline Prather McCall.
She was a member of Roxie Baptist Church. She worked for 26 years as a rural mail carrier at Roxie Post Office. She enjoyed playing the piano, growing flowers and sewing.
Mrs. Graves was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Justin Graves.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Henry “Carroll” Graves; two daughters, Brenda Whitehead of Natchez and Susan Graves Jackson and husband, Jimmy, of Roxie; three sons, Ricky Whitehead and wife, Carolyn, and Carroll “Dink” Graves and wife, Jan, all of Roxie, and Eddie Ray Whitehead of Brookhaven; one sister, Dorothy Gammill of Meadville; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a number of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Hunt, Dennis Norman, Chris Roider, Paul Arnold, Bill Halford and James Newman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Jackson and Cleo Buie.
Mrs. Graves’ husband, Mr. Carroll, extends a special thank you to granddaughter, Faith Jackson and to daughter, Susan Jackson, for many hours of dedicated care to their grandmother and mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Graves’ name to Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3488 White Apple Road SW, Roxie, MS 39661.
