Izzy Holmes scored 34 points as the Natchez High Bulldogs topped MHSAA Class 4A powerhouse McComb 71-59 Tuesday night in boys basketball.

Over the previous three seasons, McComb had a combined record of 94-4, including Class 4A state championships in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.

The third quarter proved to be the key to Natchez High’s victory as the Bulldogs outscored the Tigers 19-9 to take a 48-35 advantage.

Post-player Larry Griffin chipped in with 13 points for the Bulldogs.

Natchez High (3-6) plays host to Raymond High School next Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
