Mitzi Roby and Tapper and Kristin Hendricks of Vidalia announce the engagement of their daughter, Caitlyn Roby Hendricks to Matthew Todd Martin, son of Todd and Tammy Martin of Calvin, La.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., with a degree in children and family studies. Before moving home, she was employed by the International Mission Board, serving as a missionary in Chicago.

She is the granddaughter of Mary Roby of Brandon and the late Mitt and Carolyn Roby of Natchez, Randy and Era Roberts, Ronnie and Jonnie Hendricks of Vidalia and Martin and Robin Nelson of Ferriday.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Calvin High School  and also a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston with a degree in biology. He is currently attending Louisiana State University-Shreveport, where he will earn a doctorate in physical therapy.

He is the grandson of Minnie Martin and the late Benny Martin and Jerry and Jessie Canerday of Calvin.

The wedding will be 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at the Norton Building in Ruston.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
