Rona June Emfinger Averill

NATCHEZ — Services for Rona June Emfinger Averill, 82, of Vicksburg and formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Greg Clemnts and the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Averill was born April 29, 1934 in Tombstone, Ariz., the daughter of Rhoderic J. Averill and Ava Sutton Averill. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Stanton Baptist Church while she lived in Natchez and a member of Southside Baptist Church while living in Vicksburg.
Survivors include three children: Charles Emfinger, Linda Windham and husband, Wayne, and Diane Emfinger; three grandchildren: Eric Windham and wife, Lacy; Sarah Boler and husband, Michael; and Wesley Emfinger; six great grandchildren: Lee Windham, Lake Windham, Lark Windham, Parker Windham, Katie Boler and Nathan Boler; and her nieces and nephews.
The family would to extend a special thank you to Heritage Assisted Living and Camellia Hospice.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church in Vicksburg or Stanton Baptist Church in Natchez.
