NATCHEZ — Services for Lonnie E. Nichols, 64, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe W. Pickett officiating.   12_30-lonnieenichols-obitpic
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Nichols was born June 16, 1952, in Natchez, the son of Earl Nichols and Viola Lyles Nichols.
He was a 1970 graduate of South Natchez High School and was employed as a truck driver with Fruit of the Loom.
Lonnie was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church and held a membership with the Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising cattle and farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn C. Chatman; his parents; and one sister, Daisy Lyles.
Survivors include one son, Lonnie E. Nichols Jr.; one daughter, Mary Nichols-Ware; one brother, Billy Nichols and wife, Jackie; one sister, Evelyn Fort and husband, Willie James; four grandchildren, Imani Ware, Jordan Ware, Hunter Nichols and Bella Nichols; and other relatives and friends.
