NATCHEZ — Services for Darkis Mary Winborne, 90, of Springfield, Tenn., formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Winborne was born July 30, 1926, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Jasper Arnold Smith and Nancy Smith.
She lived in Natchez most of her life raising her family until her later years when she moved to Springfield. Mrs. Winborne was a homemaker who loved to shop and loved watching the Atlanta Braves.
Mrs. Winborne was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Carlos Smith, Claude Smith, Clem Smith, James Smith and Cleveland Smith; and three sisters, Mable Newell, Lucille Algood and Grace Allen.
Survivors include her loving husband of 74 years, Lonnie Ray Winborne; one daughter, Patricia Ann Anderson and husband, David, of Springfield; three sons, Tommy Winborne and wife, Virgie, and Randall Winborne and wife, Jannette, all of Natchez, and Gary Winborne and wife, Kathy, of Ruth; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Anderson, Michael Anderson, David Anderson, Aaron Winborne, Ryan Byrd and Will Johnson.
