FERRIDAY — Service for Evelyn Wilson, 79, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Heritage Manor in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, with the Rev. Howington officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Crystal Springs, the daughter of the Rev. James P. Calhoun and Lillie Walker Calhoun.
Evelyn traveled the world in her younger years accompanying her husband, James L. Wilson, on his travels in the oil rig business. She was known as quite the spiffy dresser and loved her many pets, dogs and puppies, throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Wilson; one brother Harry Calhoun; one sister, Jeanette Calhoun Speed; and brother-in-law Jesse Speed.
Survivors include her eldest brother, David Calhoun and wife, Wilda, and their family; niece Susan Speed Walsh and husband, Michael; grand-niece Melissa Walsh Aucoin and husband, Nick; two great-grand nieces, Riley and Paige, all of Baton Rouge; and grand-nephew Matt Walsh of Spain.
Pallbearers will be Michael Walsh, Percy Calhoun, Kirk Calhoun, Landon Calhoun and Donald Wayne Money.
