BROOKHAVEN — Services for Edward “Yogi” Rogers Bruce, 81, of Brookhaven, who died peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel.
Burial will follow at Riverwood Memorial Park under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bruce was born Jan. 19, 1935, the son of Douglas Bruce and Julia Meriweather Bruce.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brookhaven.
Mr. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Williams Bruce; two sons, Edward Rogers Bruce Jr. and wife, Janet, of Natchez and Andrew Wesley Bruce and Tealy Ballard of Brookhaven; two daughters, Deborah Bruce Moffett and husband, John, of Natchez and Stephanie Bruce Johnson and Mike Wilson of Columbus; one sister, Dorothy Louise McClellan of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Beth Welch and husband, Jerod, Ward Bruce and wife, Lori, Amy Smith, Anna Laura Orr and husband, Enoch and Catherine Smith, all of Natchez, Elizabeth Selkey and husband, Allen, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Valerie Boykin and husband, Gabe, of Tupelo, Max Branch and wife, Andrea, Bruce Branch and wife, Abby, and Matthew Johnson and wife, Sunny, all of Columbus; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to the First Methodist Church Building Fund or Hospice Ministries.
