NATCHEZ — Services for Clarence Edward “Bear” Anderson, 61, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.   01_13-clarenceeanderson-obitpic
Burial will follow at Jerusalem Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery in Kingston under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 28, 1955, in New Orleans, the son of Clarence Edward Anderson Sr. and Lucille Bacon Anderson.
He was a 1973 graduate of North Natchez High School. He was also a promoter and was employed by West Gate Funeral Home.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He enjoyed promoting, music and he was a stylish dresser.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Claude Anderson Sr., Katie Jerome Anderson, Frank Bacon Sr. and Amie Harris Bacon.
Survivors include his mother; one brother, Barry Robinson of Natchez; one sister, Ratundria Toni Robinson of Natchez; five uncles, Frank Bacon and wife, Barbra, Albert “Bo” Bacon and wife, Barbra, Larry Bacon and Michael Bacon, all of Natchez, and Anthony Bacon and wife, Becky, of Orlando, Fla.; three aunts, Mary Louise Rails and husband, James, of California, Penny Ruth Bacon of Chicago and Ollie Mae Jones and husband, Leeanders, of Jackson; a special friend, Jeremy Fakes; and a number of other relatives and friends.
