NATCHEZ — Services for Willie James Thomas, 67, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory White officiating.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Thomas was born July 17, 1949, in Natchez, the son of Sidney Thomas Jr. and Mildred Wright.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann; his father; and one brother, Robert Thomas.
Survivors include his mother; one daughter, Jasmine Thomas; eight sisters, Lucille Robinson and husband, Charles, Gertrude Bell, Charlotte Grace, Barbara Lafford, Susan Hall and husband, Larry, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; Dr. Lauree Thomas of League City, Texas, and Shirley Stampley and husband, James, of Natchez; three brothers, Darnell Thomas and wife, Hanife, of Milwaukee, David Thomas and Willie Davis Thomas and wife, Helen; and a number of other relatives and friends.
