The accolades continue to pour in for Ferriday High School standout Dare Rosenthal.
The 6-foot-7, 310-pound junior offensive lineman was named Monday to the Louisiana Football Coaches Association Composite All-State team.
The recognition comes less than a week after Rosenthal was named to the LFCA Class 2A team alongside fellow Trojans Dantrieze Scott and Lewis Matthews.
“This puts (Dare) into a different category now,” Ferriday coach Dwight Woods said. “He’s now being compared to the best of the best and not just 2A. It puts him in elite class now.”
Rosenthal is considered one of the top prospects across the country for the 2018 recruiting class. Recruiting service 247Sports rates Rosenthal as the No. 98 player in the country and the fourth-ranked player in the state of Louisiana.
This past weekend, the former University of Alabama commit visited the Tuscaloosa-based campus for the school’s Junior Day.
Woods said Rosenthal and other Ferriday standouts plan to visit LSU on Feb. 18 for its Junior Day.
“I think he’s handling (the recognition) OK,” Woods said. “He’s just going though the process and enjoying everything. He’s laid back, and he doesn’t let all these awards go to his head. He’s Dare, he’s just happy and enthusiastic.”
