ALEXANDRIA, La. — Services for Bobby Birden Owens, 66, of Winnsboro, La., who died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Evening Star Baptist Church in Alexandria, La., with the Rev. Phillip Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow at Alexandria Memorial Cemetery in Alexandria under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Owens was born Aug. 9, 1950, in Ferriday, the daughter of Isaac and Alsena Richardson Birden.
She was a retired beautician.
Mrs. Owens was Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Calvin D. Owens; and one sister, Katie Brown.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin Owens; two daughters, Petrina Owens-Greenhouse and husband, Newman, of Alexandria and Bonita Y. Almore and husband, Jessie, of Haughton, La.; a very special niece, Pat Schneider of Monroe, La.; one brother, the Rev. Willie Birdon and wife, Lillie, of Ferriday; two sisters, Parker Calhoun and husband, Isiah, of Alexandria and Bessie Chrishon of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren, Tenita, Koran, Jenia, Zavyon and Kalvin; four great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Kay’denn, Syire and Kaleb; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
