VIDALIA — Services for Edward Darnell Cubie, 63, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab in Ferriday, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Union Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Cubie was born Sept. 19, 1953, in Natchez, the son of Elvira Cubie.
He was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Vietnam era.
Mr. Cubie was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Clarence Cubie.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelia M. Dye and husband, Andrew, and Kwanza Cubie of Vidalia; one stepdaughter, Sheridan Minor Battle and husband, Victor, of Michigan; two brothers, Walter Cubie and wife, Denise, of Jackson and Kyle Cubie of Vidalia; two sisters, Margaret Mays and Ruth Singleton of Vidalia; one godson, Nicholas Kennedy of Kenner, La.; four grandchildren, Freddie Mango Jr., Sha’Niya Dye, Kaleb Dye and Nolan Cubie, all of Vidalia; and Melvin Knight and James Knight of Vidalia who were raised with him as brothers.
