NATCHEZ — Services for Jim “Bud” Deacon” Reed, 95, of Bude, who died Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at Meadville Convalescent Home, will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Bude Church of God In Christ with the Rev. Anthony Wilcher officiating.    
Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Bude chapel and from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Reed was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Kirby, the son of Joe Reed Sr. and Rebecca Bee Reed.
He was a faithful member of the Bude Church of God In Christ and served as a deacon until his death.
Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mattie Mae Smith Reed; one daughter, Carolyn Reed; five sisters, Nellie Reed, Ellen Middleton, Anner Smith, Elizabeth Bethley and Mary Byrd; and six brothers, Joe Reed Jr., Leon Reed, June “Jeremiah” Reed, Baby Boy Reed, Julius Reed and Charles Reed.
Survivors include one brother, Anderson Reed; 16 nieces; 22 nephews; and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
