FERRIDAY — Services for Annie Lee Griggs Henderson, 90, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at St. James Baptist Church, 140 Skipper Drive in Ferriday, with the Rev. Lee Andrew Martin officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Henderson was born July 26, 1926, in Ferriday, the daughter of Mangle and Elnora Griggs.
She was retired from Concordia Parish schools as a janitor and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Ferriday.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Henderson Sr.; and one son, Bobby Wayne Henderson.
Survivors include four sons, Ernest Henderson Jr. of Jeffersonville, Ind., Clarence Henderson and wife, Denise, of Marrero, La., Edgar Ray Henderson and Harold Henderson, both of Ferriday; four daughters, Hattie Brown and husband, Beasley, and Willie Knoten, all of Westwego, La., Mildred Castille and Gloria Whitley, both of Ferriday; one sister, Thelma Moore and husband, William, of Pittsburgh, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
