The Adams County Christian School girls basketball team doesn’t like the taste of defeat.
The Lady Rebels are looking to reverse momentum after falling to Bowling Green in the South State title game last Saturday, and are going into the MAIS Class AAA tournament against at Leake Academy at 6:30 p.m. today at Kirk Academy.
“My girls know what to do and how to do it,” ACCS coach Melanie Hall said. “I think they are excited about the opportunity… Win or lose to God be the glory.”
Hall said she isn’t worried about the Lady Rebels’ No. 2 ranking because to win the championship, her team will have to play teams of high caliber no matter what.
“There’s only eight teams left,” Hall said. “When we are playing like we are capable of playing, we can beat anybody.”
Going into tournament play, Hall said her team will stick to what it does best.
“It’s going to take every one of us,” she said. “We can’t have turnovers, and we have to play four solid quarters of basketball.”
Seniors Bailey Boyd and Anna McDaniel, who both earned distinctions as an MAIS All-Star, will highlight ACCS.
“I’m very proud because that is very difficult,” Hall said. “We’re blessed to have one, and to have two speaks a lot for ours kids and program.”
