NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Agnes Carter, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. W.H. Arnold and the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Carter was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Natchez, the daughter of Anthony May and Lila Richardson May.
She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Natchez and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by husband, D.H. Carter Jr. and one sister, Louise May Dore.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Fr. W.H. Arnold of Bolivar, Tenn., and Herbert N. Arnold Jr. of Natchez; two daughters, Helen Burns and husband, Andy, of Natchez and Mary Catherine Harper and husband, Noland, of Roxie; eight grandchildren, Rachel Knapp, Heath Arnold and wife, Stephanie, Christine Burns Boothe and husband, Clay, Drew Burns and wife, MacKenzie, Maggie Burns, Diane Harper Blanton and husband, Lee, Lauren Harper and Will Harper; 11 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Russ Dodge; dedicated caregiver, Tina Shannon, and nurse Amanda Herrera and the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Blake Arnold, Heath Arnold, Lee Blanton, Drew Burns, Lee Johnson and Jacob Knapp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Assumption Catholic Church or to a charity of choice.
