Trinity girls fall to Claiborne in consolation game

D’Asia Mitchell registered 35 points but it wasn’t enough as Trinity Episcopal fell to Claiborne Academy 50-47 in the MAIS AA girls consolation game Saturday at the state tournament.
With the win, Claiborne advances to next week’s MAIS overall tournament while Trinity’s season comes to an end with a 17-12 record.
The Lady Saints led at halftime 30-23 but couldn’t stave off the Lady Rebels.
Kylie Bass led Claiborne with 20 points and Megan Parham had 18.
