FERRIDAY — Ferriday police seek a suspect who allegedly attempted to break into River City Medical Supply on Mickey Gilley Avenue Thursday.

Ferriday Police Department investigator Richard Madison said the suspect attempted to break into the building through both the front door and the back door but never managed to get inside the building.Madison said he thinks a hammer found on scene was used to break the knob off the back door. However, Madison said a metal bar barricaded the back door from the inside so the suspect could not gain entry.

Madison said the hammer also could have been used to break the Plexiglas on the front door. The front door had metal bars and a deadbolt that required a key to access, so the suspect could not gain entry through the front, either, Madison said.

Madison said police would attempt to obtain fingerprints off of the Plexiglas and hammer.
