NATCHEZ — Services for Donald Dewitt Wright, 87, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 2, 2017, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Parkway Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Wright was born Tuesday, April 23, 1929, in Natchez, the son of Irving Wright and Mary Williams Wright.
He was a resident of Natchez and a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juanita N. Wright; two brothers, John W. Wright and James E. Wright; grandson, Christopher Welch; and great-grandson, Ryder Joseph Quinn.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Rose Welch of Natchez, Gwen Watts and husband, Claude, of Brandon and LaJuana Via of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren, Michelle Haimson of Santa Rosa, Calif., Carolyn Welch of Monroe, La., Kristi Williams of Madison, Kim Wyatt of Prosper, Texas, Amy Quinn of Brandon, Don Via of Redwood City, Calif., and Jessica Via of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Maybell Wynn of Vidalia; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandson-in-laws Claude Watts, Bill Williams, Chuck Wyatt, Joe Quinn, Don Via and Keith Massey.
Honorary pallbearers will be SPC, Tyler Chance Welch, Curtis King, Jakob Mello and the Heavenly Bound Sunday School Class of Parkway Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Donald’s Sunday School Class Chair Fund or Compassus Hospice.
