CENTREVILLE — Services for Marzelle Tolar, 93, of Centreville, who died Saturday, March 11, 2017, in her home, were Sunday at Centreville Baptist Church with Dennis Johnsey officiating.

Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tolar was born on April 1, 1923, in El Dorado, Ark., the daughter of William and Blanche Blackman.

She loved hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting and her family. She was a member of Centreville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tolar was preceded in death by her husband, Al Tolar; her parents; two daughters, Patricia Ann Lawrence and Charolette Kay Lawrence; three sisters, Nellie Glassman, Arlene Bryant and Louise Blackman.

Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Reeves and husband, Charlie, of Downsville, La., and Sue Hill and husband, Jerry, of Centreville; two sons, Richard Lawrence and wife, Sue, of Jonesboro, La., and Bill Lawrence and wife, Martha, of Shreveport, La.; sister, Maxine Watkins of Athens, La.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ricky Hill, Devin Lane, Anthony Causey, William Hill, Bruce Babcock and Mike Lane.

Honorary p-allbearers included the remainder of her grandsons, great-grandsons and great-great grandsons.

Memorial donations may be made to Centreville Baptist Church or Compassus Hospice.
