MONROE, La. — A memorial service celebrating the life of Carolyn Marks Mayo, 76, of Monroe, La., who died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, after a lengthy illness, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe with the Rev. Ben McGehee and the Rev. Betty Swanson officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mayo was born June 4, 1940, in Black Oak, Ark., the daughter of Robert Wesley Marks and Cora Ann Ray Marks.
She was a member of Lea Joyner United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Mayo was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Claxton Mayo; three children, Tracie Mayo Mathieu and husband, Tommy, of Little Rock, Ark., Leah Mayo Liner and husband, Conway, of Monroe and Mark Mayo; three grandsons, James C. Liner V of Monroe, Thomas Mathieu and Wills Mathieu, both of Little Rock; one great-grandson, James C. Liner VI of Monroe; three brothers, coach Bobby Marks of Lake St. John, Jimmy Marks and wife, Carol, of Pascagoula and Freddy Marks and wife, Marie, of Vidalia; one sister-in-law, Millicent Mayo of Natchez; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
