NATCHEZ — Three men reportedly robbed an Alabama man on Cemetery Road Friday morning who had come to Natchez to purchase a pickup truck listed on Craigslist.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Jerry Brown said the suspects reportedly set up a meeting with the victim on the classified advertisements website under the guise of selling him a truck.

The victim came from Alabama and was traveling down Cemetery Road when he stopped because a tree was down across the road, Brown said.

“When he got out to move the tree, three black males came out of the woods and held him a gunpoint and robbed him,” Brown said.

The robbery occurred at approximately 9 a.m. Friday.

Brown said the suspects match the description of the three men who reportedly robbed an employee of The Natchez Democrat outside the newspaper’s office early Wednesday morning.

Friday’s robbery is at least the sixth reported robbery in Natchez and Adams County since Feb. 28.

Anyone with information about the robberies should contact Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
