NATCHEZ — A memorial service for Larry Johnson, also known as, Farad Bashir, 59, of Seattle, formerly of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Log Cabin Road in Roxie, with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.
His ashes will be laid to rest at the family cemetery in Fayette.
Arrangements were under the direction of Southwest Mortuary in Seattle.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 28, 1957, the son of Louis and Johnnie Pearl Johnson.
He was a graduate of North Natchez High School and worked for a number of restaurants as a cook and as a bus driver for King County Metro.
He was Muslim.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Louis Jr., Joe and Elbert Johnson, all of Natchez.
Survivors include two daughters, Jameelah Bashir and Rhonda Berry; four sons, Farad Unique Bashir, Carlos Johnson, Brian Johnson and Louis Welch; four sisters, Johnetta Williams, Everline Johnson, both of Seattle, Claudia White and husband, the Rev. LeRoy White and Rose Patterson and husband, Ralph, all of Natchez; and two brothers, the Rev. Carl Johnson and wife, Bobbie, of Fayette and Henry Williams of Atlanta.
