MCCOMB — Memorial services for Elizabeth “Betty” Fox Walker, of McComb, who died Friday, March 24, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family, will be 6 p.m. today at J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bob Phelps officiating.

Graveside services will be noon Monday at Memorial Park Gardens in Starkville under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.

Elizabeth “Betty” Fox Walker was born May 16, 1929, in Jackson, the daughter of Ewell Dee and Mallie Aljean Fox Martindale.

She was an active member of J. J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church and participated in numerous church activities. She was a retired preschool teacher and served as director of Mississippi State University’s Infant and Toddler Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, James Dewitt Martindale.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, William E. and Vivian M. Walker of Nashua, N.H., Kelly Henley of Smithdale, James Allen and Kelly B. Walker of Aledo, Texas, and Cheryl Ann and Randy Freeman of Natchez; 10 grandchildren, Melisa DeCoux and husband, Andrew, Jennifer Erler and husband, Hank, Sara Beth Williams, Jaime Walker, Megan Walker, Suisan Walker, Carli McClure, Keegan Walker, Gavin Walker and Quinn Walker; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis Erler, Gracie Senner, Austin Erler, Henry Williams, Hayden Williams, Axton Erler and Reagan Roberts; and numerous special friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to J.J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 774, McComb, MS 39649.
